PIZZA DOUGH INGREDIENTS (Makes 2lbs of Dough, 6-8 individual pizzas) 3 1/2 - 4 Cups Bread Flour 1 1/2 Cups Warm Water (90 -110 Degrees F) 1 Packet or 1 tsp Instant or Active Yeast 2 tsp. Extra Virgin Olive Oil 1 tsp. Salt PIZZA SAUCE INGREDIENTS *Sub Marinara Sauce 1 28 oz. Can San Marzano Plum Tomatoes 1 tsp. Oregano 1/2 tsp. Salt 1/2 tsp. Black Pepper 1 tsp. Pizza Dough and Pizza Instructions
Start by placing your Pizza Steel or stone in the oven and preheat at 500 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes.
While your Pizza Steel and oven are heating up, you can start on your making your Pizza Dough.
Add Warm Water to a bowl, add Yeast (check yeast expiration date) and dilute in water, add salt, and oil.
Now add 3 cups of Bread Flour, mix with your hands and push the dough from the outside inward to the center.
At this point your Pizza Dough will be sticky, you will slowly add the last ½ cup of Bread Flour until you reach a bouncy consistency, and just at the point where the dough is no longer sticking to your hands.
Portion dough and place in a container and cover at room temperature for 45 mins or until the dough rises about 50% if you are going to use it today. If you are pre-making dough put it directly in the refrigerator and use it within 3 days, the dough will rise in the refrigerator.
Make a quick Pizza Sauce, by adding Tomatoes into a bowl and crushing with your hands or place in a blender first. Add all ingredients, Oregano, EVOO, S&P, and mix them together. This sauce is cooked in the oven while making the pizza.
Once your oven and Pizza Steel or preheated and your dough is ready, it’s time to make some pizza.
Shape the dough either round or hand-stretched and place it on a pizza peel, add your sauce, cheese, and favorite toppings and make sure your peel is free of debris and that your pizza can easily glide off the pizza peel before you attempt to place it on the Pizza Steel in a 500-degree oven.
Cook your pizza for 7-10 minutes or how you like it.
